How this website is built to be used
Accessibility
What we are aiming for
We want everybody to be able to use this website, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard on its own, voice control, or a browser zoomed well past its normal size.
The standard we are working to is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, Level AA.
How far we have got
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the site do not fully meet the standard.
We are not claiming full conformance, and we are not going to until it has been tested. Design and build work so far has been done against the standard — colour contrast is checked automatically whenever the site’s colours change, every page can be reached with a keyboard, and the site respects a browser or operating system setting that asks for reduced motion — but building to a standard and being measured against it are two different claims.
What we know is not right yet
A full accessibility audit of this website — automated checks plus manual testing with a keyboard, at 200% zoom, and with a screen reader — is scheduled before the site is publicly launched. It has not been carried out yet, so we cannot yet give you a list of the specific things that fall short.
This page will be updated with what that audit finds, including anything we have not been able to fix and why. We would rather tell you that the testing is still to come than publish a list that reads as though it were complete.
Booking online, and the parts of it we do not control
If we send you to an online booking system, it is a system supplied by another company, and there are things about it we cannot change. We have looked at how it behaves, and we would rather tell you about them than let you meet them unwarned.
- It opens as a page of its own, rather than inside this website. That is deliberate: the booking system only works properly when it has a page to itself, so we send you to it rather than tucking it inside one of ours.
- Its pages may resist being pinched or zoomed in on. Browsers differ in whether they take any notice of that, so on some phones and browsers you will be able to zoom normally and on others you may not.
- Its pages may not announce a name when they open. If you use a screen reader, you may hear nothing identifying the page you have arrived on.
- Going back may not work the way you expect. The booking system moves you between its steps in an unusual way, so your browser’s Back control may not return you to the step you were on.
We looked at these on 14 August 2026. The system belongs to another company and they can change it at any time without telling us, so what you find may differ. These are not things we can fix ourselves, and we are not going to promise a date for somebody else’s work.
You never have to use it. If the online booking system gives you any difficulty at all, telephone the garage on 07935 326377 (Monday to Friday, 08:30–18:00) and we will book you in over the telephone. You can also send us the details from our own booking page and we will get back to you to arrange a time. Both routes reach the same diary and neither is a lesser way of dealing with us.
Telling us about a problem
If you find something on this website you cannot use, please tell us. It is genuinely useful — a problem somebody reports is a problem we can fix, and it usually stands for several people who did not report it.
Telephone us on 07935 326377 (Monday to Friday, 08:30–18:00), write to us at 23A Hambledon Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH6 5PJ, or send an enquiry. Tell us what you were trying to do and what happened; if you know what you were using — a screen reader, a particular browser — that helps, but it is not needed.
You do not have to use this website to deal with us. Anything the site is for can be done over the telephone or in person at the garage.
