Vehicle servicing
Routine servicing for petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles, carried out to the schedule your manufacturer sets rather than a single interval applied to every car.
Sound familiar? A service light or reminder is showing on the dashboard.

Signs you might notice
If any of these describes your vehicle, this is the page for it.
A service light or reminder is showing on the dashboard.
The service book is overdue, or there is no record of when the last one was done.
The engine sounds rougher, or fuel economy has dropped over the past few months.
What the work covers
- Engine oil and filter replacement, using oil to the manufacturer's specification.
- Air, pollen and fuel filter replacement where the schedule calls for it.
- Brake, tyre, suspension and steering inspection, with anything found written up.
- Fluid levels checked and topped up — coolant, brake fluid and screen wash.
- Battery and charging system check.
How it works
You book by telephone or through the enquiry form, telling us the make, model and mileage.
You bring the vehicle to the workshop on the day we agree, with the locking wheel-nut key if your car has one — without it a wheel cannot come off for the brake inspection.
We carry out the service schedule for your vehicle and record what was done.
Anything we find outside the service is a telephone call before it is done, rather than a line on the bill afterwards.
We telephone you when the vehicle is ready and go through what was done, and what will want attention before the next one.
Why choose AutoTech Garage?
What you can hold us to on this job.
We agree the work with you first
We explain what we have found and what putting it right involves, and nothing beyond what you have agreed is carried out without a telephone call first.
We test before we replace
A fault code records the circuit the vehicle was unhappy about, not the component that failed. We test to confirm the cause rather than replacing the part a code names.
Whatever your vehicle runs on
We work on petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles. Tell us which you have when you get in touch so the right time and equipment are set aside.
Common questions
How often does my vehicle need a service?
It depends on the vehicle. Most manufacturers set an interval in months or miles, whichever comes first, and we work to the schedule for your make and model rather than one figure applied to every car.How do I find out what a service will cost?
Ask us when you book, with the make, model and mileage. A service is a known list of work for a given vehicle, so it is a question that can be answered before the car is here — which is not true of a repair, where somebody has to look first. Nothing is carried out until you have been told what it will come to and have agreed to it. Anything the inspection turns up that the service does not cover is a separate conversation and a separate decision. How long will you need the vehicle for?
We tell you when you book what we expect to need it for, and we telephone you if that changes. What we will not do is print a figure here: the same service is a morning on one car and most of a day on another, and the useful answer for yours is the one you get on the telephone rather than the one that fits on a web page. Will this keep my service record up to date?
Yes. We record the work carried out, with the date and mileage, and update the service record before the vehicle goes back to you.Can you service a hybrid or an electric vehicle?
Yes. We work on petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles. Tell us which you have when you book so the right amount of time is set aside. What happens if you find something that needs attention?
We call you and explain what we have found before carrying out any work that is not part of the service. Nothing extra is done without your agreement.
